What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Exercise Physiologist is a university qualified allied health professional. Exercise Physiologists specialise in the prescription and delivery of exercise-based programs for the management and prevention of chronic disease and injury.
We help those with:
- Musculoskeletal conditions: rehabilitation for injuries or conditions that affect the muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, and other connective tissues in the body.
- Chronic & complex conditions: Management and or prevention of conditions including diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, cancer, heart disease, obesity, chronic pain.
- Mental Health Conditions: Tailored exercise programs can enhance overall well-being and improve mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and stress.
- Disability: To improve functional capacity, quality of life, independence and promote overall health and wellbeing for those with physical, intellectual and/or psychosocial disabilities.
